We have had a great first couple of days of school. Today
begins our first full week of school. With that we also begin homework packets.
Today, your student brought home their packet of homework for the week. The
entire packet is due this FRIDAY morning. Here is what needs to be done each
afternoon:
Monday:
1. Cut new spelling sort. Sort it out and then write the sort
on the sheet provided. Don’t forget to read the sort out loud when you are
finished. Keep your cut sort in a baggie so you don’t lose it during the rest
of week!
2. Complete the 4 math problems on the page under the Monday
heading. Practice your 2s times tables.
3. Choose 2 vocabulary words and write sentences for these
words on your sheet.
4. Read for 30 minutes and record it on your STAR contract.
5. Have mom or dad
look over your homework and sign your STAR contract. Don’t forget to bring your
orange homework folder back to school EVERYDAY!
Tuesday:
1. Sort your spelling words and then say them out loud.
Choose 6 words and write sentences with them. Write it on your sheet.
2. Complete the 4 math problems on the page under the Tuesday
heading. Practice your 2s times tables.
3. Choose 2 vocabulary words and write sentences for these
words on your sheet.
4. Read for 30 minutes and record it on your STAR contract.
5. Have mom or dad
look over your homework and sign your STAR contract. Don’t forget to bring your
orange homework folder back to school EVERYDAY!
Wednesday:
1. Sort your spelling words and then say them out loud.
Choose 6 words and write sentences with them. Write it on your sheet.
2. Complete the 4 math problems on the page under the Wednesday
heading. Practice your 2s times tables.
3. Choose 2 vocabulary words and write sentences for these
words on your sheet.
4. Read for 30 minutes and record it on your STAR contract.
5. Have mom or dad
look over your homework and sign your STAR contract. Don’t forget to bring your
orange homework folder back to school EVERYDAY!
Thursday:
1. Sort your spelling words and say them out loud. Give your
cards to your mom or dad and have them give you a spelling pre-test. Write your
test on the sheet provided.
2. Complete the 4 math problems on the page under the Thursday
heading. Practice your 2s times tables and be ready for your test tomorrow.
3. Choose 2 vocabulary words and write sentences for these
words on your sheet.
4. Read for 30 minutes and record it on your STAR contract.
5. Have mom or dad
look over your homework and sign your STAR contract. Don’t forget to bring your
orange homework folder back to school EVERYDAY!
6. Have your packet ready to be turned in tomorrow morning!
Friday:
1. Turn in your homework packet.
2. Read for 30 minutes during the weekend and record it on
your STAR contract. Be ready to turn in your STAR contract with the reading
journal completed on Monday morning.
