Valentine's Party

Just wanted to let parents know that I am inviting students to bring some type of container to put their valentine's in. You can keep it simple and bring a simple bag to hold them or you can get creative and do a cool container!

Fraction Madness!

We have been working on fractions for quite some time now. Students are still experiencing difficulty finding common denominators, comparing fractions, and renaming improper fractions as mixed numbers. Our Go Math book is a great resource to use to help students practice and gain a deeper understanding of these concepts. It is also a great resource for parents to brush up on some of these skills. You and your student have access to their math book as well as online manipulatives and practice games right at home! I will be assigning students practice activities from this website in the near future. Below is the link to follow to get to the website. You will need to know: Our state"Utah", our district "Granite School District", our school "Diamond Ridge Elementary", and your student's identification number for both the username and password. Once you have entered the site click on the  mathematics button and then our "Go Math" button.  This will direct you to another page. There, click on "My Library" and you will see all of the resources available. You can see the students math book and workbook. If a student ever forgets their workbook page assigned for homework you can now print it out right at home. The "Mega Math" link has lots of fun practice games. The "Carmen San Diego" link has great tutorials on specific concepts. I will try to update this blog with information on what chapter and section we are covering each week but if you have questions please feel free to call or email me. This week we have covered 6.7-6.8 and all of chapter 7. Thanks for your support and enjoy the website!
